Outcome: Clover's advertising found to be reasonable and in line with Government regulations and industry practice
Complaint: Clover is advertising certain of its juices as 100%, for example it advertises its Krush Apple juice as 100% Apple Juice. However if you read the ingredients it contains apple juice, vitamins, preservatives and flavourings and hence it is NOT 100% apple juice.
Outcome: Whilst the practice is discouraged, Discovery Bank was found to have taken steps to educate consumers and to provide incentives to discourage a person getting into debt, and hence the complaint was dismissed
Complaint: Discovery has sent out emails encouraging its customers to spend on their credit card, for example an email entitled get double entries this Black Friday weekend. Any advertisement, offer or practice which would have the effect of a consumer getting into more debt is a form of consumer abuse and should not be taking place. This would include such things as advertising rewards or incentives for spending on a credit card. All providers have an obligation not to do anything which would result in an increased debt burden on a consumer.
